ech-0About six months ago, one of my friends from high school, Ben Hart, emailed me with a couple of pictures of a spaceship that his young son, Ethan, had built out of Legos, asking if I though I could use it.

One of the things I can always use help with are spaceship designs that don’t look like water fowl, so I happily took the designs, promising to use them at the earliest possible opportunity — which was in today’s strip!

A little sidetone: way back in 1994 when I was designing the “Steel Duck” for The Melonpool Chronicles comic book, Ben came up with about 90% of the techno-babble in the deck plans — many of which I still use in the comic (“vectored ion vents,” “Cricetus Gigantus Dymo,” etc.).
