Steve Troop

Steve Troop started posting his comic, Melonpool online several years before “webcomics” was even a word. Starting as a comic strip submission for newspaper syndication, he started posting his comics daily from 1996 to 2005 and then again from 2012 to 2016. Over the course of two decades, he collected the strips and other artistic ventures into 18 books.

Troop has also worked as an animator, storyboard artist, gag writer, junk mail creator (everybody needs a day job) and puppeteer with credits including music videos for Ed Sheeran, Trace Adkins and Kid Kudi, TV shows Glee and Teen Titans, GO!, commercials for T-Mobile, Nike and Honey and co-wrote and built puppets for an off-off Broadway show called Alien vs. Musical

Currently, Troop builds and designs puppets on commission and teaches puppet design online and in person. His puppet work can be see at PuppetTroop.com. He lives in Los Angeles, CA with his Italian Greyhound, Tilly, who has three books of her own. @melonpool
