Bridging the Gap
March 11th, 2010
I did a lot of work on the set on Tuesday — the walls can now stand on their own and the first hints of a door can be made out without too much imagination. Now that the first wall is more-or-less constructed (minus the console, anyway), additional wedges should go together a lot faster. I had forgotten how much trial and error these things take — surprisingly, there are no blueprints out there for building puppet-sized spaceship sets…
Anyway, the next update should be pretty cool — if all goes according to plan, I should have working doors on the thing!
I’m so excited about this film — I know it’s a slow, long road ahead, but at least I feel like I’m finally making progress… I can’t wait until we start shooting some test footage!
- With a little imagination, you can see the beginnings of the door to the left. Once the “skin” is on, the board at the bottom will be removed so that puppeteers can move puppets in and out of the set.
- I think I’m going to have a garage sale in the next couple of weeks to make room for this set.
